KANE ENDS DROUGHT IN WOLVES WIN
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane returned to form over the weekend as he scored one of the goals to lead his North London club to a 2-0 win over Wolves in a league encounter played at the new White Hart Lane. The England national team skipper was on target for Spurs in the first half as he scored for the first time since returning to action after a slight ankle problem last month.
The England international sustained a minor ankle injury in the 2-2 draw at the home of Everton in the league. He came off in the final minute of the match with the injury after netting twice. The ankle problem made the England man to miss the 2-1 home win over Southampton in the league. Kane was absent as Spurs came back from a goal down to beat the Saints.
The Three Lions of England talisman recovered on time from the aforementioned ankle injury to take his place in the Spurs team that faced Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. He was largely anonymous as City centre back Laporte scored the only goal of the game in the final ten minutes to win the game for the Citizens at the expense of Kane and his Spurs teammates.
Kane took his goal drought to two games in all competitions after he failed to find the back of the net in the 4-0 win at home to Sheffield Unitedearlier this month.He was overshadowed by Real Madrid loanee Gareth Bale who scored a hattrick against the Blades. Son Heung-Min got the other goal for the home team.
England international Kane also failed to find the back of the net in the last league game before the Wolves clash to take his drought to three games in all competitions. He fired blank as in-form Leeds United beat his Spurs team 3-1 at home last weekend.
Kane found his scoring boots again after he opened the scoring in the win over Wolves on Sunday. He received a throughball from Danish international Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at the end of the first half before the second half strike from Hojbjerg wrapped up the straightforward win for his team. Kane now has 21 goals in the league in the Golden Boot race. His rival, Mohamed Salah also have 21 goals with two games to go for both players.
